profitting from the sick.

A HOSPITAL porter yesterday tried to cash in on the misery of the drug trial victims.
Callous Ayman Shalash offered to take secret photographs of the stricken patients in their beds for £2,000.

He told our reporter: "I can get in the intensive care units no problem because I'm staff. But I want two grand.
"I'll get the sack but I don't care. I'll get you a picture of the one that looks like the Elephant Man. But I want cash."
His vile move came as six men remained in intensive care last night, two of them in critical condition.

It is possible they may not fully recover, but four of them yesterday gave relatives hope by communicating with sign language.
While investigations into what went wrong intensified last night, a solicitor acting for one patient said there was confusion over whether the drug had been successfully tested on animals. The company later stated tests had been successful.
Shalash - a part-time worker at the Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, West London, where the horror happened - approached our reporter outside the main entrance.
Describing his plan, he said: "I can take plenty of pictures. I'll hide the phone under my arm and then just do it. Click, click.

"It'll be easy. I can get pictures of the ward with the victims. I can get you the one that looks like the Elephant Man but I want more for that. He'll make a good picture."
Shalash, a student in his mid 20s from Cricklewood, North London, darted behind a tree after spotting his boss drive past.

He exclaimed: "I don't care if I lose my job, it's s**t anyway. If you pay me a couple of grand it's worth it, I'll just get another job. This is too good an opportunity to miss." Meanwhile, Ann Alexander - a lawyer for the 29-year-old victim with the severely swollen head - raised fears over the safety of the trial drug, developed to treat leukaemia and rheumatism.
She said: "There is confusion about whether the drug had actually been tested successfully and safely on animals before tests on these volunteers. It's very early days, but I'm very concerned about the lack of information received and the inconsistency of it."

But the chief scientific officer of TeGenero - the German firm which makes the TGN1412 drug - dismissed claims animals had died in earlier tests. Thomas Hanke said: "We saw no drug-related adverse events in the animals and there were no drug-related deaths."
One critical patient is Ryan Wilson, 21, of Highbury, North London, whose head has swollen to three times its normal size.

Experts around the world have united in the desperate search for a cure. TeGenero has flown in 20 doctors to help the medical team.

Burqa Causes Vitamin Deficiency in Ireland...

MUSLIM women who wear the burqa in Ireland are at increased risk of pelvic fractures during childbirth because of vitamin D deficiency due to a lack of sunlight, a consultant warns.

Babies born to women with vitamin D deficiency are also more prone to seizures in their first week of life, according to Dr Miriam Casey, of the Osteoporosis Unit in St James’s hospital in Dublin.

A burqa is an enveloping outer garment worn by some Muslim women. In hot countries, enough sunlight gets through to give them sufficient vitamin D, but this may not happen in countries where there is limited sunshine, such as Ireland and Britain.

Casey said she was aware of cases involving pelvic fractures, and warned that these could become more frequent as Ireland’s Muslim population increased. “Ireland’s temperate climate doesn’t have the intense sunlight that keeps burqa-clad women from becoming vitamin D-deficient in their own countries,” she said.
Vitamin D helps the body to absorb calcium and is crucial for making bones strong. The greatest source is sunlight.

Casey said the fractures occur at sites of particular weakness which develop in under-mineralised pelvic bones. In these women's babies, low calcium can cause “serious complications such as seizures, growth retardation, muscle weakness and fractures”.
“As a toddler, carrying the weight of the torso can force the development of a bow-legged appearance and a waddling gait,” she said. “Later, there can be rickets, which is caused by vitamin D deficiency, with swollen wrists and bones that fail to fuse in adolescence.”

Darker skins can produce as little as 1% of the vitamin D that fair skins produce. Moreover, studies have found that the rate of many diseases rises the further north one moves, leading researchers to suspect that vitamin D may play a greater role in health than previously thought.
Casey said: “As we see a rise in the number of Muslims in Ireland, it’s going to become a massive problem. It’s worse in England whose Muslim community is older. There are already problems in the Rotunda [a maternity hospital in Dublin] and the paediatric hospitals.”
A spokeswoman for the Islamic community in Ireland said she was unaware of health problems suffered by women wearing burqas.

Last year, Muslim women in the UK were warned that wearing the hijab could cause poor health for them and their babies. A UK government spokesman said: “We are not interfering in a Muslim woman’s right to wear the hijab, but we are stressing that we all need sunlight on our skins.”

BBC's "favorite" MPAC Launches Witch Hunt for Hate Whistle Blowers...

The Muslim Public Affairs Commitee (MPACUK) is appealing to its supporters to track down the Muslim researchers who worked with the think tank Policy Exchange on a project to expose the sale of hate literature in British mosques.

Under the heading "The Hunt for 8 Sufi Zio-Con Frauds", the MPAC website claims that the researchers were members of "Sufi underground cults" who teamed up with the Zionists to discredit Islam. And it adds:
Who are they, what are their backgrounds ... MPACUK will dig deeper and expose every last detail of the Sufis who tried to destroy their own community.
If you know who they are - please write in and we will expose these men and women for all the Muslim community to see. Write in now and let us do what the incompetent idiots in the Mosque should be doing, protecting our community.

Let us do what, precisely? I wonder if this sinister announcement of a manhunt will persuade the BBC to stop sucking up to MPAC, whose spokesman Ashgar Bukhari says that any Muslim killed fighting Israel goes straight to paradise. Probably not.
When Holy Smoke reported Bukhari's views, I was denounced as part of the Zionist conspiracy. Actually, I don't give a toss what MPAC thinks: I'm not a Zionist and I wasn't impressed by the spluttering performance of a Policy Exchange spokesman when Newsnight confronted him with evidence that some of the receipts for hate literature were dodgy. (I mean, for God's sake, how difficult is it to produce genuine receipts for Muslim hate literature? I could pick some up from my local Islamic bookstore today.)

But that's beside the point. What we have here is a threatening post on the MPAC official website which is apparently encouraging someone to dispense Islamic justice to Muslim traitors. "Protecting our community", MPAC calls it. That's a handy little euphemism, isn't it?

Sounds like MPACUK is publicly denouncing these Muslims for apostasy -- and we all know what happens to apostates in Islam.

Hate Preacher Plans to 'Hijack' Queen's Christmas Speech...

HATE preacher Omar Bakri Mohammed is planning to hijack the Queen’s Speech with his own bile-filled Christmas Day message.

Bakri will preach to his UK supporters in a live online sermon.Speaking from his Lebanon bolt-hole, exiled Bakri is expected to spout his usual line of hate for the West and to call for Sharia Law to be adopted in the UK.
He will also address the “evils” of Christmas in the hour-long rant, sponsored by the “London School of Sharia”.

Last night counter terror experts called for websites allowing him to speak to be closed down.He was banned from returning to the UK in 2005 after he left the country during a probe into his rabble-rousing lectures. However, as we reported earlier last month, his UK cohorts are beaming him in on video link from Lebanon to address meetings.Dad-of-six Bakri, 50, has launched an online “Breakfast Show” stream on the website run by hate-preacher pal Anjem Choudary,

A security source said his rants would be monitored to check he was not calling for any acts of terror. He said: “You can be sure it won’t be the traditional Christmas message of peace and goodwill to all men.”And Tory MP Patrick Mercer, chairman of the House of Commons counter-terrorism sub-committee, added: “Bakri is extremely dangerous. He doesn’t have to lift a finger to commit acts of terror himself, he inspires others to do it.”

Wife Kills Husband with Knife Hidden in Burqa...

A Muslim woman who knifed her husband to death 33 days after their wedding to escape from her arranged marriage has been jailed for life by the Old Bailey.

Mahamuda Khatun, 28, hid a knife inside her burka and plunged it into Mohammed Dilwer Miah's chest when he opened the door of their home in Stepney, London.
She had been having a relationship with another man and was angered that her husband wanted her to quit her job at an optician's.
Khatun then tried to cover up the murder, repeatedly lying to police and persuading a friend to give her a false alibi for the night of the killing.
When her alibi was exposed she said her husband had attacked her and she struck out in self-defence.

But the jury found her guilty of murder yesterday by a 10-1 majority and she was sentenced to serve a minimum of 17 years.
The Common Serjeant of London, Brian Barker QC, told her: 'In my own view, it was wicked and I have no doubt much thought was put into your plans.
'It may well be that Mr Miah turned out to be something of a disappointment to you and you preferred a freer life. But I do not accept that you had no option. I believe you went into this marriage with your eyes open.'

Bangladeshi-born Khatun had a previous arranged marriage which lasted eight months.
During the trial the court heard that on the night of the murder in August last year, Khatun had called the police to her home and claimed she was locked out but could smell burning.
When the fire brigade forced entry, they found the husband on the floor with a single stab wound to the chest.
Khatun told police she had been at work in Liverpool Street that evening before going out with a friend.

But mobile phone mast evidence showed she had been much nearer the home and a minicab driver remembered taking her to Bethnal Green.

New Arrivals Successfully Whine for Larger Free Houses...

SIX moaning asylum seekers have landed bigger council houses after winning a legal battle with taxpayers’ cash.

The Somalians were given free homes shortly after they arrived in Britain. But they soon complained the accommodation was too small after their families arrived from abroad. One refugee was in a two-bed flat, but a year later was joined here by his wife and six children.

Another was also joined by his wife and six children before she gave birth to another child. They took their demands to court – using legal aid cash – after Birmingham council said it had no accommodation left. But yesterday it was revealed they been moved into bigger houses after winning the action. One got a five-bedroom mansion, four got four-bedroom homes and another received a three-bedroom house.Birmingham councillor Malcolm Davis slammed the decision as “unbelievable”.He said: “A two-bedroom flat for one person is over the top already when there is such a chronic shortage.

It would appear that the fact they are asylum seekers has helped them qualify for legal aid.”None of the asylum seekers is believed to be working and all were said to be living off welfare benefits. Migrationwatch chief Sir Andrew Green said: “This may all be perfectly legal but it leaves the long-standing residents of Birmingham aghast at the manipulation of the system.”The council plans to appeal against the ruling at the House of Lords next year

£25k fine for filthy takeaway

THE boss of a mouse-infested takeaway has been fined £25,000 - after being greeted with 'happy birthday to you' by magistrates. Adeel Nawaz from the Kashmir King takeaway in Whalley Range, Manchester, appeared in the dock on his 22nd birthday after pleading guilty to 10 breaches of food hygiene rules and two health and safety offences at an earlier hearing.

As well as the fine, Manchester magistrates also ordered him to pay £2,010 costs. He was given 28 days to pay.But he looked stunned after hearing the court's verdict, and said: "How can I pay? I've got no money to pay." Magistrates were told the Upper Chorlton Road takeaway which Nawaz runs for his father, was infested.Barbara Gora, prosecuting for Manchester council, said officers inspected on February 27 after a complaint. She said: "Inspections of the premises revealed serious food hygiene contraventions and health and safety concerns included an active and extensive infestation of mice throughout the premises."Mouse droppings were found on shelves and floor, on an oven-roasting tray and next to an open container of pizza dough. A sack of rice in the cellar was also found to be `severely contaminated' with mouse droppings and urine.

The staff toilet was also found to be 'grossly dirty' and a drinks refrigerator, the tandoori oven and sink were 'dirty and greasy'.Inspectors also found a number of electrical defects that `presented a risk of electrocution', as well asa 'very greasy' step at the rear of the takeaway.Nawaz, of Bedford Avenue, Whalley Range, told the officers he was running the takeaway for his father Mohammed Nawaz, who was abroad. His records revealed the premises had been treated for cockroaches on January 10. Work to improve the step had been completed by April, but some cleaning and electrical repairs were still outstanding.Miss Gora said: "Profits should not be put before risk to public health." Nawaz, who represented himself in court, said: "It's not like that any more."Trevor Cunliffe, chairman of the bench, told Nawaz the offences were 'very serious' and had put public health at risk.He said the likelihood of someone having an accident at the takeaway was like 'a bomb waiting to go off''. He added: "I feel sorry for you. I feel your father should be where you are."

Teen Girl Beaten by Muslim Gang...

A TEENAGE girl has spoken of her terror after a vicious attack left her needing hospital treatment.

The 15-year-old was walking to her friend's home along Thursby Road at 6-40 p.m. on Sunday, when a gang of up to 20 young men started shouting abuse at her. When she tried to walk away, two of the group ran after her and, as they grabbed her, one punched her twice in the ribs. The other stamped on her foot before she was able to get away and run home."It was really scary," said the girl, who did not want to be named. "

They were on the other side of the road by the bus stop smoking when they saw me and that's when they started shouting. I had absolutely no idea who they were. I tried to ignore them but two of them came over to me and that's when one of them hit me and the other stamped on me. It really hurt and the pain is only starting to ease off now."She was later taken to hospital where she was found to have bad bruising to her ribs. The girl's mum said: "Something like this is extremely intimidating. It has really shaken her up. Luckily, the injuries were not as severe as they could have been. If it had been an elderly lady they had attacked she may not have been able to get away."The youths, of Asian origin, are aged between 10 and 20 and Sgt Phil Carter, of Burnley police, said: "This appears to be a completely unprovoked attack on a young girl.

We are urging anybody who may have seen this group of lads to come forward and help us with our investigation."Anybody with any information can ring Burnley police on 01282 425001 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Mother told to take down her Christmas lights -- they might offend non-Christians

A woman has spoken of how she was told to remove her Christmas lights by a housing association worker - in case they offended her non-Christian neighbours.

Dorothy Glenn decorates her home in South Shields with hundreds of festive lights every year, including a giant tree and a 4ft Santa Claus.
But she was left stunned this year when a South Tyneside Homes worker called at her house to inform her that the decorations she was displaying might be offending her neighbours.
The association last night apologised to Mrs Glenn and insisted that removing Christmas lights was not part of their policy.

The 41-year-old mother-of-three said: 'I put the lights up in the first week of November and then recently a uniformed housing worker was outside, and it looked like he was counting my decorations.'When I went outside he said that the lights were "offensive to the community". If I was offending anyone I could understand why he was telling me, but nobody has complained.
'My neighbours are Bengali and Chinese and I know that they love the lights - the children will always point them out when they walk past.'

Mrs Glenn, who has lived at the property for four years with son Owen, 19, and daughters Samira, 21, and Chelsea, 15, said she had a close relationship with her neighbours and enjoyed living in a community with people from different backgrounds.
She said: 'I told him that I am far from a racist and that I wouldn't be taking the lights down. I'm shocked, annoyed and upset. At the end of the day, it's the festive season and they're staying.' ...

British Medical Association loses track of 132 "refugee" doctors

More than 130 refugee doctors have disappeared in Britain — sparking fears there could be MORE terror cells operating in the NHS.

British Medical Association watchdogs have admitted to losing contact with 132 medics from Islamic terror hotspots like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Somalia.
The revelation comes days after Scots-based doctor Bilal Abdulla was jailed for a minimum of 32 years for masterminding the attacks at Glasgow Airport and in London in June last year.
Intelligence sources say MI5 is monitoring at least 200 potential terror gangs throughout Britain.

One insider said last night: “Not every doctor who comes into Britain is a fanatic intent on causing terror — but after the Glasgow attack, there should be tighter controls. It seems there are a number of doctors who have simply disappeared from the BMA radar.”
Iraqi Abdulla, 29, worked at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley while he plotted to cause mass murder at the airport and at the Tiger Tiger club in London. According to figures released in June, there are 1,199 doctors registered on a database of refugee medics seeking work in the UK.

Three hundred and fifteen hail from Iraq, while 49 come from Afghanistan.
Another 111 come from Iran while 47 Somalians and 20 Algerians are also registered. The BMA has “lost touch” with 132 of them. A security insider said: “There’s no suggestion ALL these missing guys are terrorists. But we have to think of nightmare scenarios. If the BMA can’t maintain records and have lost contact with potentially risky people, it could have serious repercussions for our nation’s security.”
Terrorism expert Dr David Capitanchik said more care had to be taken in monitoring doctors from countries with a tradition of Islamic extremism.
He added: “In the past hospitals have tended to focus more on looking at people’s medical qualifications. But attitudes now need to change.”

Last night a Home Office spokesman refused to comment on the medics.
He added: “We do not elaborate on specific plots or individuals.”
The BMA denied those classed as ‘missing’ were a risk to security.
A spokesman said: “These are professional individuals. By us losing touch with them, it could mean they are more likely to be settling into British society than planning some kind of atrocity.”

BBC "favorite" Muslim-spokesman: "Any Muslim killed fighting Israel goes to paradise"

As to all those who disagree with this position, well, they can simply "piss off!" -- according to Mr. Ashgar Bukhari, leading spokesman of The Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPAC), "one of the media's favourite Muslim organisations."

The Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPAC) is one of the media's favourite Muslim organisations - radical and outspoken but not extremist, we're led to believe. One of its spokesmen, Asghar Bukhari, is a particular favourite of the BBC.

So I was interested to see how Bukhari would "deal" with me when I rang him to ask about an interesting discovery by The Centre for Social Cohesion, in my opinion the most formidable of the think-tanks monitoring Islamic extremism, which has been rooting around Facebook discussions.

In one recent thread, Bukhari says: "Muslims who fight against the occupation of their lands are 'Mujahadeen' and are blessed by Allah. And any Muslim who fights and dies against Israel and dies is a martyr and will be granted paradise ... There is no greater oppressor on this earth than the Zionists, who murder little children for sport."

Well, Bukhari didn't evade the question. He confirmed that the Facebook discussion was authentic, and said: "I stand by that [his comments], and I think any Muslim in the world stands by that ... if you think I'm going to tap dance for you and say 'These Muslims are really bad and should sort their own house out', then I'm not going to."

Indeed, he added, if that was my view then I could "p--- off".

Jail for sex abuse mosque teacher

A mosque teacher who subjected two young girls to an ordeal of sex abuse at Koran lessons in Edinburgh has been jailed for seven years.

Mahmood Qadri, 60, began preying on the children during the 1990s while helping the pupils learn the book of Islam.
A judge at the High Court in Edinburgh was told Qadri maintained he was wrongly convicted of the charges.

Qadri had denied two charges of lewd and libidinous behaviour at Polwarth Mosque but was earlier convicted.
But temporary judge John Morris QC told him: "Because of the gravity of the crimes of which you were convicted a custodial sentence is the only appropriate disposal in your case."
He said: "Because you have been convicted of sexual offences I am concerned that the public, and in particular young children, are adequately protected from serious harm from you when you are eventually released."

The judge ordered that Qadri should be kept under supervision for a further two years and warned if he breached it he could be brought back to court.
He also ruled that first offender Qadri should be placed on the sex offenders register for life.
He began molesting the first child in January 1995 and the abuse continued until September 1998 during which time he kissed and carried out sex acts on the girl.
The second girl was molested by Qadri at the mosque from January 1997 until September the following year.

The victims, now 19, told his trial that he abused them in a bedroom at the mosque during Koran lessons.
One told the court that the abuse occurred every day she attended at the mosque.
She said it was only later that she first revealed what had occurred as she had previously been scared and thought "people would laugh" at her.
Breach of trust

Qadri, from Manchester, had originally been due to appear in court in 2005 but had gone to Pakistan to carry out "relief work" following an earthquake.
He was detained in May this year when authorities held him in Germany.
Defence counsel Sarah Livingstone said there had clearly been "a breach of trust".
She said Qadri accepted the decision of the court but added: "It is his position he had been wrongly convicted.

"He said he has no intention of ever teaching children again. That is not something that is going to happen because of the sex offenders' register and because of the organisation of the mosque."

Bus driver attacked with iron bar

A minibus driver was left with facial injuries after being attacked by men armed with a baseball bat and iron bar.

The 39-year-old driver of the blue Ford Transit had been attacked by the driver of a blue Range Rover on the A4 at Brunel Way, Slough, on Monday morning.
Shortly afterwards, three other men arrived at the scene in a 4X4-type vehicle. Two of them used a baseball bat and an iron bar to damage the bus.
They then assaulted the minibus driver who is now being treated in hospital.
There were no passengers on the minibus at the time of the incident.
All the men involved are described as Asian.

Det Sgt Emma Brown, of Berkshire East CID, said: "I'd like to reassure members of the public that we are currently pursuing several positive lines of enquiry in our efforts to find those responsible."

She urged witnesses to come forward.

over 60 per cent of Britain's Muslim schools have extremist links, says draft report

Britain's Muslim schools have been sharply criticised in a controversial draft report commissioned by a leading think tank which suggests that over 60 per cent of them are linked to potentially dangerous Islamic fundamentalists.

An early version of the report, entitled When Worlds Collide, alleges that of the 133 Muslim primary and secondary schools it surveyed, 82 (61.6 per cent) have connections or direct affiliations to fundamentalists. The 133 schools are in the private sector but supposedly subject to Ofsted inspection.
The report also claims that some of these schools teach "repugnant" beliefs about the wickedness of Western society and Jews.
The claims in the report, written by Denis MacEoin in response to a commission from Civitas, will provoke ritual cries of "Islamophobia" from the Muslim Council of Britain and fellow travellers such as Koran Armstrong. MacEoin has been careful to back up his claims with evidence - in particular, screen captures of links to Islamic hate-mongers, including supporters of Al-Qaeda.

Civitas, however, is not prepared to endorse MacEoin's 61.6 per cent figure, which will not appear in the published version of When Worlds Collide. A spokesman for Civitas explains: "We want to concentrate on claims that are absolutely robust, rather than complicated material, some of it in Arabic, that might unjustly damage someone's reputation."
Perhaps the most alarming finding of the draft I've seen is that so many of these schools (including ones with no connections to political extremism) are bricking up their pupils behind a wall of Koranic injunctions and Sharia law.
The schools known as Darul Ulooms, which base their curriculum on a seventeenth-century Indian teaching system, include very few secular subjects, claims the report. It says: "Their aim is not to prepare pupils for life in the wider world, but to give them the tools for a more limited existence inside the Muslim enclaves."

The consequences for bright Muslim British girls are absolutely dire. Lively intellects are being destroyed and brilliant careers cut off before they can begin. To quote the report again: “Every year, an incalculable number of Muslim teenagers and young women are lost to the wider world that informs their citizenship.”
The numbers are increasing fast, and there is confusion over how many schools exist. The growth of non-Muslim schools, says MacEoin, is “hugely overshadowed by a rapidly growing sector of Muslim institutions. These now number 127 [sic] full-time schools and an estimated 700 part-time madrassas for intense religious instruction [and that doesn’t include the Darul Uloom seminaries] … Many recreate in the UK the style and content of schooling that can be found in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.” Great.
And all this is happening with the implicit consent of the Government, Ofsted – and Christian leaders, who bang on about the threat to “faith schools” (and, in the case of R. Williams, the virtues of Sharia) while shielding their eyes from the evidence that many Muslim faith schools are poisonously anti-Christian.

I've seen many of the extremely damaging screen grabs on which MacEoin bases his claims. Memo to the Muslim Council of Britain: start lining up irate spokesmen now

Briton guilty of directing terror

A British man has become the first al-Qaeda suspect convicted in the UK of directing terrorism, following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.

Rangzieb Ahmed, 33, was also found guilty of being a member of terror group al-Qaeda, along with Habib Ahmed.
Habib Ahmed, 29, was caught with two diaries containing details of top al-Qaeda operatives, described in court as a terrorist's contact book.
Among the names listed was that of al-Qaeda's suspected former number three.
The diaries, which contained some writing in invisible ink, had been given to Habib Ahmed by his co-defendant Rangzieb Ahmed, who is no relation.
Among the names and phone numbers in the diaries was a former al-Qaeda top man Hamza Rabia, the court was told.

The prosecution said he was part of a three-man active service cell on an unknown foreign mission.
Rangzieb had travelled to Dubai from Pakistan via China en route to South Africa in December 2005 as part of a "major activity," the court heard.
It was said these were abandoned when his boss, Hamza Rabia, was killed in an explosion the same month.
Habib then flew to Dubai to collect the diaries and they returned to the UK separately.
Counter-terrorism officers, who were monitoring the two men, had bugged the hotel room in Dubai where they made several coded references to al-Qaeda.
They also placed a probe in the taxi of Habib, who they continued to monitor when he returned to the UK.

Rangzieb returned to Pakistan in January 2006 to continue his ambitions as an international terrorist.
He was arrested by the Pakistani authorities in August 2006 over alleged links with al-Qaeda, his detention forced detectives to apprehend Habib as they feared he would go on the run.
He was already a confessed member of another proscribed terror group, Harakat-ul-Mujahideen Two of the invisible ink diaries were discovered at Habib's home following his arrest.
Detective Chief Superintendent Tony Porter from Greater Manchester Police said: "Rangzieb Ahmed is a very dangerous man. He consorts with senior terrorist figures and has devoted his life to creating and working with terrorist networks.
"We believe that he was intent on masterminding terrorist attacks and would have considered mass murder part of his duty.

"We don't know where Rangzieb's next target would have been, or what exactly he was working towards, but we are sure he was attack-planning."
Both Rangzieb and Habib Ahmed had close contact with al-Qaeda's senior figures, and were arranging for British citizens to visit terrorist camps, he added.
The men were both found guilty of possessing the diaries between April 2004 and April 2006 for the purpose of terrorism.
Habib Ahmed, of Cheetham Hill, north Manchester, was cleared of attending a terrorist training camp in Pakistan in 2006.
He was also found not guilty of seven counts of possessing information for the purposes of terrorism.

His wife, Mehreen Haji, 28, was cleared of two counts of arranging funding for the purposes of terrorism.
Rangzieb Ahmed, of Fallowfield, south Manchester, was cleared of possessing a rucksack containing traces of explosives for the use of terrorism.
His legal team say he was tortured during his eight-month detention in a Pakistani jail.
Both men showed no emotion as the verdicts were read.

Terror director Briton given life

Muslim waitress: I was sacked for refusing to wear 'sexually available' red dress

A Muslim cocktail waitress who claims she was sacked for refusing to wearing an 'indecent' red dress is suing a bar for £20,000.

Fata Lemes, 33, said the figure-hugging scarlet dress made her look like a nightclub hostess and was 'physically revealing and openly sexual'.
Customers pestered her for sex while she was working at the upmarket Mayfair bar, she claimed, and managers ran it 'like a sex club'.

Miss Lemes said bosses at the Rocket bar allowed customers to think that 'waitresses could be treated as prostitutes'.
She is suing for sexual harassment and sex discrimination.
She said she was fired when she refused to wear the dress and is claiming £20,000 for injury to her feelings and lost earnings.
Miss Lemes, who is from Bosnia, told an employment tribunal she tried the outfit on and found it was 'physically revealing and openly sexual'.
She said: 'It was indecent. If you put this dress on, you might as well be naked.
'Everything finishes in the middle at the chest. It is open at the front and back. I did not want men looking at my body. I was brought up a Muslim, and am not used to wearing sexually attractive clothes.'

Restaurant group Spring & Greene, which owns the Rocket chain, denies her claims and insists the dress was a 'summery staff uniform' chosen by two other waitresses.
The Central London Employment Tribunal was shown photographs of one of the waitresses, Amanda Bjursten, wearing the dress at the bar and she also modelled it at the hearing.
The Swedish waitress said she was 'completely comfortable' wearing the clinging outfit and added: 'It might be hard for some people to wear this dress. But I still like the dress and like wearing it in the bar.'

Miss Lemes, who is blonde and has worked as a waitress for 14 years, started her £5.52-an-hour job at the bar in May and wore her own clothes to work.

Another waitress at Rocket, Amanda Bjursten, models the red dress at the centre of the claim
She chose a loose-fitting black shirt and trousers but said that on her second shift she was approached by two customers who told her they were looking for 'a blonde Scandinavian or Swedish girl for one or more nights'.
She said: 'It was obvious that they thought that I was Scandinavian. I politely refused the offer.
'I was offended by that offer. I considered the company must be indicating to guests that the bar was the type of bar where they could make sexual offers to staff.'
A few days later she was ordered to wear the red dress.

She told the hearing: 'It was a bright red dress that was clinging and revealing of the body. It was clearly designed to be attractive to men sexually.
'I was particularly concerned that clients, who already had made sexual proposals while I was wearing loose black clothing, would regard me as a sexual object or a prostitute.'

Miss Lemes has made the claim against Rocket bar and restaurant in Mayfair
Miss Lemes, of Camden, North London, said she told the bar's manager, Luca Scanu: 'I am sorry but I cannot wear that dress.'
She said she was given one day's notice and wore her black outfit for her last shift, but claimed another customer approached her for sex that night.
Lawyer Tom Grady, for Spring & Greene, told Tuesday's tribunal: 'There is no evidence to support the suggestion that it is a sex club or some sort of seedy brothel.'
Mr Scanu denied the dress was 'sexually inviting' or that waitresses were asked to wear it to boost custom from men.

Mr Scanu, an Italian, said: 'If you have curves, it will show them but I can see the curves of a woman's body if she is wearing trousers.'
Lawyer Joe Sykes, for Miss Lemes, asked the restaurant's general manager, Danila Bodei: 'The reason for choosing the colour red was to indicate that the waitresses were sexually available, wasn't it?'

She replied: 'No, it was just the colour to match the bar.'
The company claims Miss Lemes resigned of her own accord.
The tribunal decision is due next year.

UK Prison:Islamic Foot Baths YES, Jesus NO

The multi-faith room at HMP Lewes will have footbaths installed so Muslim inmates can wash their feet before prayers. For Christians, however, there will now only be a plain wooden cross and a portable altar which can be removed if other faiths are using the room.

The new £200,000 development at the East Sussex jail has been designed as a multi-faith room with the space split into two.One side is dedicated to Christian worship and the other is for other faiths in the 485 inmate category B jail. But a spokeswoman from the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) revealed the traditional Christian crucifix depicting Jesus nailed to the cross will not be used.

After discussions between the prison chaplain and Muslim imam it was agreed a toned-down wooden cross would be used instead of a crucifix.Zsa Roggendorff, chair of the nearby Ford HMP IMB, could not understand why the crucifix has been taken out of the chapel. She said: "At Ford we have a multi-faith chapel and all are prisoners are allowed to use it."We still have our cross and we have the altar. All the other faiths have got their own special rooms in huts to use which are part of the main prison."

A portable alter will also be used at HMP Lewes so it can be removed when it is not needed while footbaths have been installed so Muslim inmates can wash their feet before prayers.Amanda Hamblin, chair of the Lewes IMB, said: "We see this as a vastly improved facility and very much welcome the fact that the prison has an imam"It is key that everyone will have access to a decent place of worship whether they are Muslims, Christians or any other faith."I think the significant thing about this is that the facilities were very poor before.

"Now they have been set up with a lot of consultation and thought given to how to make it fit for purpose, fit for access and fit for the religious needs of our prisoners, whatever they may be."The multi-faith room was dedicated on December 5 but has not yet been opened for use.

Christian leaders in the UK continue to bow down to Islam as if they have no concern for their own religion. This time a new multi-faith prayer room in a UK prison is set to open with Islamic foot washing baths installed, but a Christian crucifix with Jesus nailed to it will not be used out fear of offending the Muslim prisoners. This all came about after a conversation between the prison's chaplain and Imam.

Bomb plot doctor jailed for life

An NHS doctor from Iraq convicted of plotting to commit mass murder has been sentenced to at least 32 years in jail.

Bilal Abdulla, 29, was found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court of conspiracy to murder by planning car bomb attacks in 2007, with accomplice Kafeel Ahmed.
Car bombs were left outside a nightclub and in a street in London's West End on 29 June, but failed to detonate.
A day later a burning Jeep filled with gas canisters was driven into Glasgow Airport. Ahmed died from his injuries.

Abdulla was found guilty of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions.
Mr Justice Mackay sentencing said Abdulla was a "religious extremist and a bigot" who held the most extreme form of Islamist views.
The judge told him: "All of the evidence makes you a very dangerous man, you pose a high risk of serious harm to the British public in your present state of mind.
"That fact plus the circumstances of the offences themselves means that the only possible sentence on each of these two counts is a life sentence."
A third man, Jordanian NHS doctor Mohammed Asha, was cleared of any involvement but now faces deportation.

His lawyers said Dr Asha, who remains in custody, would fight to stay in the UK so he can resume his medical career.
Suicide attack
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said Abdulla's conviction underlined the "serious and sustained threat" from terrorism facing the UK.
The London attacks happened outside Tiger Tiger in Haymarket and in nearby Cockspur Street. Abdulla and Ahmed then launched a suicide attack at Glasgow Airport.
In each case it was good fortune alone that there had been no loss of innocent life, prosecutors said.

Speaking about the London attacks, the judge said: "Your murderous intent was best shown by the obstructing of the safety mechanisms on two of the cylinders and by the 800-plus nails in one car and 1,000 in the second, designed to do nothing else but constitute a deadly form of shrapnel to maim, injure and kill."

He added: "You were both undeterred and immediately put the second attack into effect, which had probably been designed as the grand finale of your conspiracy."
Abdulla, who was born in the UK, admitted in court that he was "a terrorist" as defined by English law.
He went on to say he believed the British government and Army could equally be accused of terrorism for their actions in Iraq.
But he added he had wanted to frighten people rather than murder them.
Bright future
During the nine-week trial, Dr Asha admitted knowing Abdulla and Ahmed but denied any knowledge of their attacks.

The 28-year-old neurologist, cleared on Tuesday of plotting to murder and cause explosions, is said to be disappointed not to have walked free after his acquittal.
After Abdulla was sentenced, Dr Asha said in a statement read by his lawyer Tayab Ali that the accusations had "obliterated" his life and that of his family.
He said they had been living under a "heavy cloud of the most serious allegations possible" and that justice was not being done.
Dr Asha reiterated his innocence and said he would fight deportation.
Dr Asha was served with deportation papers after his highly skilled migrant programme visa expired while he was on remand.

At the time of his arrest on 30 June last year on the M6 motorway in Cheshire, Dr Asha had been working for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, in Stoke-on-Trent.
He was living in Sunningdale Grove, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, with his wife and two-year-old daughter.
He had been due to go on holiday in Jordan with his family in mid-July last year, before taking up a post in neurosurgery at Coventry's Walsgrave Hospital.
Jurors heard Dr Asha was a strictly observant Muslim with a very bright future in neurology.
One colleague told the court he would not be surprised if Dr Asha became Britain's top neurologist.

Consultant neurosurgeon Rupert Price said he gave Dr Asha a glowing reference, the best he had ever written.

‘No risk’ paedophile migrant to stay in UK

"A JUDGE sparked outrage yesterday by ruling that an illegal immigrant who sexually abused a young girl for three years was “not dangerous” – and free to stay in Britain.

Pervert Nurul Islam will cost taxpayers more than £200,000 after being jailed for years. Indian-born Islam, 35, of Oxford, began preying on the victim when she was 12. He admitted ten counts of sex acts on a child.

But Judge Julian Hall told him at Oxford Crown Court: “I do not make a recommendation for deportation and I do not find you are dangerous.....Judge Hall previously jailed a rapist for only two years, saying his ten-year-old victim was dressed provocatively."

Incredibly outrageous - but what do you expect in a country where distraught mothers had to beg police to stop muslim pedophiles from preying on their young daughters.?

Muslim jailed for sex act on bus with boy (15)

A Pakistani man who asked a 15-year-old boy to perform a sex act while they travelled on a city bus has been jailed for a year and ordered to leave Ireland within 24 hours of his release.

Jawad Khan (30), of Howth Road, Sutton, Dublin, appealed to the court for an order not to name him in the media because it would get back to his Muslim family in Pakistan and they would be thrown out of their village.

He said he also had a fiancee in Pakistan and told gardai that in his home country "sex with a woman is bad, sex with a man is death".
Khan, who was an assistant manager of Spar in Bayside Shopping Centre, Sutton, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to "defilement of a child" on August 10, 2006.
Judge Katherine Delahunt directed that he be registered as a sex offender and said she accepted that Khan regretted his actions and "exhibited genuine remorse".
She said she was taking into account the fact the teenager was considerably younger than Khan and that the boy had to undergo counselling.

Judge Delahunt suspended the last 12 months of the two-year sentence for five years on the condition that Khan leave the jurisdiction within 24 hours of his release from prison and not return to Ireland for 10 years.
She refused an application by defence barrister Pieter Le Vert to prevent the publication of Khan's name in media reports.
She said naming Khan would not identify the victim and she could not see "any reason to differentiate this case from any other".

Detective Garda Cyril Kelleher told prosecuting barrister Caroline Biggs that Khan sat beside the child on a Dublin Bus on the date in question and said: "Let's talk."
The two chatted before Khan instructed the boy to perform a sex act on him for several minutes. Khan gave him his phone number before getting off the bus.
The boy later reported the incident to gardai who, using Khan's phone number, were able to find out his identity and get a picture of him from the Immigration Bureau.
They matched the picture with the CCTV images from the bus and arrested him.
Khan initially refused to make any admissions and was released but several days later came back to gardai and said he "could not sleep or stay for one second in peace".
He pointed himself out on the CCTV footage but denied the encounter with the boy was premeditated.

When asked whether the boy's schoolbag did not indicate he was underage, he replied: "I did not think he looked too young.
"I'm not here to defend myself or say that I did not do sex. I want to apologise to that guy."
Worries
Mr Le Vert said Khan was worried about press coverage of the case because "there is a large Muslim community in Dublin and everybody knows each other".
He said his client's parents were financially dependent on him and their lives would be ruined if people found out what he had done.
He had handed in his notice to his job in Ireland because he felt it would be dishonourable to keep it.

Mr Le Vert added that Khan had some savings to return home and would not object if the court ordered him to leave the country.

Sexual perversion & pedophilia is prevalent in the muslim religion- after all Islam's revered prophet Mohammed was married to a six year old girl and sexually active with her when she turned nine. Thus, the Prophet set the stage for the acceptance of pedophilia in the muslim religion.

Terrorism adviser to Met is on wanted list

A man wanted by Interpol for his links to an alleged terrorist organisation has been advising Scotland Yard on countering Muslim extremism,

Mohamed Ali Harrath has been the subject of the Interpol red notice since 1992 because of his alleged activities in Tunisia, where he co-founded the Tunisian Islamic Front (FIT).
Tunisia has accused Mr Harrath, the chief executive officer of the Islam Channel in Britain and an adviser to the Scotland Yard Muslim Contact Unit, of seeking help from Osama bin Laden. It says that the FIT wants to establish “an Islamic state by means of armed revolutionary violence”.
Mr Harrath has been convicted in absentia of numerous criminal and terrorism-related offences by Tunisian courts and sentenced to 56 years in prison. Tunisia is an ally of the West in the fight against terrorism but is regarded by critics as a police or one-party state. Its secular Government regards those who advocate an Islamic state as a threat to its stability.

The Times has also learnt that, in evidence before Britain’s Special Immigration Appeals Commission in 2003, an MI5 witness accused the FIT of terrorism activities in France. Mr Harrath denies this, saying his movement was wrongly blamed by the French courts for founding a guerrilla network that held banned military weapons.

No one has ever produced evidence linking Mr Harrath to any terrorist activity. Despite this, he is still the subject of an Interpol red notice — its highest level of alert – as a terrorist suspect and countries are urged to arrest and extradite him. His lawyers have sought to remove the notice but in the meantime this extraordinary state of affairs remains unresolved.

Mr Harrath admitted setting up the FIT but said that it was a “nonviolent political party founded in 1986 to oppose the one-party state in Tunisia”. He stated unequivocally: “We are not extremists and we are not terrorists and we [sic] never been involved in any such activities”. However, he added that “revolution is not [necessarily] a dirty word” and “there is nothing wrong or criminal in trying to establish an Islamic state”.

Despite Mr Harrath being wanted by Interpol, Scotland Yard has appointed him as adviser to its Muslim Contact Unit on preventing extremism and terrorism. Mr Harrath told The Times that he was “regularly consulted in an advisory capacity by the Muslim Contact Unit of the British police for guidance on best practice in relation to counter-terrorism issues and combating extremism”.

The unit’s former head, Robert Lambert, wrote in a letter of support to Mr Harrath that he had made a “key contribution to our efforts to defeat adverse influence of al-Qaeda in the UK”.
The British Government refused a request by the Tunisian Government in 1997 to have him extradited. According to his lawyers, “the UK security services informed Mr Harrath that the UK did not regard him as a threat and that there was no basis for the Tunisian extradition request, which the Tunisian authorities had wholly failed to substantiate”.

His political views and wish to overthrow Tunisia’s Government have, however, raised alarm in British circles. One government minister said: “That is not acceptable. We have a problem with that because Tunisia is our ally. Tunisia today, UK tomorrow.”
The Met Police refused to comment.

Blind Man Turned Away from Restaurant as Guide Dog Offends Muslim Staff...

Alun Elder-Brown, a recruitment executive, said he was left feeling "like a piece of dirt" after being barred from bringing the animal into Kirthon Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, on religious grounds.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association said the decision was illegal under the Disability Discrimination Act and Mr Elder-Brown, 51, is now considering suing the establishment in The Pantiles.

It follows a series of successful prosecutions of Muslim taxi drivers who refused to carry guide dogs in their cars because they considered them unclean on religious grounds.
Mr Elder-Brown was taking his girlfriend out to celebrate her birthday with her five year-old daughter last week when he was told he would have to leave his dog, Finn, tied up outside.
He showed a card issued by the Institute of Environmental Health Officers certifying he and his dog were allowed into any premises but an argument ensued and the owners threatened to call the police if he did not leave.

"It was humiliating and degrading, especially as there were a lot of people around me," he said.
"I was made to feel like a piece of dirt. They told me I couldn't come in because it was against their religious beliefs to have a dog in the restaurant.
"They then said I could leave Finn tied up outside. I stayed calm but when they threatened to call police I left."

He added: "It was horrible. It put a dampener on the whole celebration."
Under the Disability Discrimination Act it is illegal to refuse to serve a disabled person of give them a diminished level of service because of their disability.
Chris Dyson of Guide Dogs for the Blind said: "We are extremely concerned and disappointed that Alun was refused access to this restaurant.

"We very much hope that this restaurant will reconsider its decision and get in touch with the charity so that we can give them a better understanding of their requirements under the law and explain the important role that the guide dog plays for Alun."

The restaurant's owner, Amenur Abdussamad, was not immediately available for comment.
But Shamin Ahmed, a partner in the restaurant, said that he had written to Guide Dogs for the Blind to apologise for the incident.

He said that although the owners of the venue are Muslim, he insisted religion was not a factor in the decision to refuse Mr Elder-Brown.
“We were worried about the hygiene, that is what happened, it was a mistake,” he said.
“I have had a letter from Guide Dogs for the Blind, I have sent a reply apologising about that.... we found out afterwards that guide dogs are allowed, I didn’t know that.”

Some Imams 'biased against women'

A Muslim think tank has found some UK Imams discriminate against women when enforcing Islamic Sharia law.

Scholars at the Centre for Islamic Pluralism (CIP) interviewed 90 Muslims in London, the West Midlands, Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
They found some women did not get fair hearings in forced marriage, arranged marriage and domestic violence matters.

It comes after an NHS doctor was freed in Bangladesh following claims she was being held there for a forced marriage.
Sharia law governs every aspect of a Muslim's life, and Imams or scholars give out rulings on how to live by God's wishes. Some mosques hold Sharia courts.
The CIP's international director and its report's author Dr Irfan Al-Alawi said women seeking help in situations like forced marriages often turned to Imams for a ruling on what to do.
"Our research shows that domestic violence and forced marriages seem to be the dominant problems that women are facing and seeking Sharia rulings on.

"In every case it is a male who is the defendant coming from India, Pakistan or Bangladesh.
"Some ladies have approached the Imams and the Imams... have encouraged the ladies to stay with their husband or with their in-laws, whereby they have a duty bound under the Sharia."
He said he knew of a 15-year-old girl in Pakistan who was tricked into marriage over the telephone with a 40-year-old man from Sheffield, who had the mental age of a four-year-old child.

"The Home Office refused to recognise the validity of the marriage but the Islamic Sharia Council in Britain accepted it," said Dr Al-Alawi.
He said Imams should be working at the heart of their communities showing leadership, but some were failing to do so.
He accused some Imams of "cashing in" on the Sharia system.
On average it may cost someone £250 to go and get an Islamic divorce, he said.
"There are Pirs [Muslim holy men] and Imams who come here from south Asia and charge people for charms, holy water... how is this helping anyone?" he asked.
"They should be putting back something useful into society."
The spotlight has been on forced marriages in recent weeks, with the introduction of new laws designed to help victims, and a high-profile case in Bangladesh.

Lawyers for trainee NHS GP Humayra Abedin, 33, from east London, said her family planned to force her into marriage after she travelled to Dhaka.
She had travelled there as she thought her mother was ill, and then was held against her will for months, they said.
Ms Abedin is due to arrive back in the UK later, after London's High Court ordered her return under the new Forced Marriage Act and the High Court in Dhaka also ruled she must be freed.
Thirty-year-old Sophiya (not her real name) from West Yorkshire, was 13 when her father arranged her marriage to a distant cousin in Pakistan.

She said that after much resistance she was forced to marry a man she did not want to, but decided to go through with it so she could get back to the UK and put her case to a local Imam.
"I saw three Imams but they all ruled that I was legally married according to the Sharia. I told them I had been forced but they said that did not change anything."
Sophiya decided to try and please her parents and her new husband and carry on, but three years later she sought an Islamic divorce.
"I met some more Imams and said that we had been separated now for nearly two years but instead of giving me guidance with my divorce, they suggested I had to go for counselling or therapy.

"I told them I had been forced and this was not Islamic, but they disagreed."
A few months later Sophyia's husband wrote and gave her the Islamic divorce she longed for.
"I went through the proper Islamic way and these men told me to go away."
Sophiya said she wants the government to send Imams back to their countries of origin if they cannot uphold the true values of the Sharia.
Ishtiaq Ahmed, is a spokesperson the Council for Mosques, a Bradford-based group which represents over 90 mosques and religious schools.

"We have in Britain... Muslims from all over the world, people are practising their own cultural, their social, kind of way of life.
"We have looked into this issue on many occasions and have found that for some Imams a grey area can form where the rulings of the Sharia finish and long-held cultural practices start.
"Imams do need more training and help; we also need lots more female scholars, ulemas, to work with our communities and try and help women."
"I feel Imams are not trying to deliberately discriminate against anyone we just have to be more open in how we pass judgements so everyone is happy and understands the process."

The report is due to be published next month and will be sent to the government and agencies.
It will recommend that Imams coming to the UK from south Asia and Africa need to be vetted to ensure they have a broad knowledge of Islam and a good command of English, so they can carry out their duties in a professional and competent way.

Pact targets Pakistan terror link

Three-quarters of the most serious terror plots being investigated by UK authorities have links to Pakistan, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said.

He was unveiling a £6m ($8.9m) deal with Pakistan he called "the most comprehensive anti-terrorist programme" between the UK and another country.
He is in Pakistan meeting President Asif Ali Zardari, following talks with India's premier Manmohan Singh.

UK police want to quiz a Pakistani suspect in the Mumbai attacks,
They want to interview Mohammed Ajmal Amir Qasab - the sole gunman taken alive - about terror groups operating from Pakistan.
Mr Brown's series of meetings in the region came as Pakistan accused India of violating its airspace.
India has denied this but has announced a security overhaul. It blames Pakistan-based militants for the Mumbai attacks, which killed at least 170 people, including one Briton.
Mr Brown said he had wanted to express his condolence for the Mumbai attacks at first hand.

He said the "terrible terror outrages" had shocked the whole world and the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant group, thought to be responsible, had "a great deal to answer for".
He added: "No country should have to go through what India has had to go through as a result of the Mumbai outrages.
"I've said to Prime Minister Singh we will give every help that we can. We will work together in tackling terrorism. And we will work together on issue of security. We also know that there have been arrests in Pakistan.

"We also know that the group responsible is LeT and that they have a great deal to answer for."
India has urged Pakistan to take action over the recent attacks.
Pakistan denies any involvement, but has promised to co-operate with the Indian investigation.
Mr Zardari has pledged to take "strong action" against terrorists, but has also called on India to share more information about the attacks.
Partnership plan

During a news conference in Islamabad with Mr Zardari, Mr Brown proposed the start of a new partnership with Pakistan to fight terrorism.
The "pact against terror" funding will go towards anti-car bomb equipment and material to educate people out of becoming extremists, he said.
"The time has come for action and not words, and I want to help Pakistan and other countries root out terrorism.

"In return for this action we will continue to expand our counter-terrorist assistance programme with Pakistan, and it will be more than ever, the most comprehensive anti-terrorist programme Britain has signed with any country."
Speaking during a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Saturday, Mr Brown said wherever there was terrorism, it had to be fought.
He described Pakistan's border region with the country, where he met troops fighting the Taleban, as one end of a "chain of terror" that could stretch to Britain if more was not done to tackle the threat of al-Qaeda.

Mr Brown spoke of his "disgust and horror" at the willingness of the Taleban to use a 13-year-old child to deliver a bomb in a wheelbarrow to a Marine patrol, killing three men and the boy.

Teachers 'beat children' during religious lessons

A ROCHDALE parent claims his son underwent punishment ‘like a torture’ during Muslim religious lessons.

The father, who does not want to be named, says the teacher allowed another child to film the abuse on his mobile phone.
The revelation follows the publication of comments by Rochdale Imam, Iran Chishti, who suggested physical abuse takes place in religious schools – or madrassas – in Rochdale and across the country.

Imam Chishti, who spoke in The Times, runs the Light of Islam Academy in Milkstone Road. The Observer was unable to contact him at the time of going to press.
The parent who spoke to the Observer said his son, who was aged four at the time, was removed from the lessons as soon as he found out.
He said: "The teacher put him in the middle of the room and the others are all doing their prayers. The film shows the teacher questioning him and shouting at him and he’s crying."
The boy was then hit repeatedly on the soles of his feet with a slipper.
When the parent confronted the teacher they denied committing the abuse, which he believes ‘happens all over’.

Hafiz Abdul Malik, a spokesman for Central Mosque, said mosques where madrassas were held were working to educate teachers. He said physical punishments were largely a thing of the past and may have occurred around 10 or 15 years ago.
He said: "All the tutors are quite familiar with the rules and regulations.
"Some of the problems that might exist could be with people running education facilities from home.

"The established institutes follow the guidelines and have certain child protection policies."
A joint statement by the Rochdale Public Protection Investigation Unit and the safeguarding board from Rochdale Council says some allegations of abuse made by children have been investigated.
It says: "On occasions investigations have been made jointly with the police and children’s social care.

"These inquiries fall within the scope of Rochdale’s child protection procedures.
"Parents are always informed, advice given and their views are sought."
Terry Piggott, education director at Rochdale Council, said because of the rapid turnover of volunteer teachers at madrassas it makes the classes difficult to regulate.
He added: "We are working closely with a number of faith groups, including madrassas, to provide training on child protection, including highlighting what is and is not acceptable."
Six sessions have been held this year with mosque leaders and employees and more are planned.
The council was keen to stress that the issue was not solely a Rochdale concern and that a lot of positive work was being done with mosques.

Mohammed Shafiq of the Ramadhan Foundation said such incidents may have once been commonplace, but were now in ‘isolated pockets’.

Corporal punishment was banned in state schools in 1986.

Banned Cleric Preaching To Brits

militant Muslim cleric banned from living in Britain is continuing to lecture to his followers in the UK twice a day.

Omar Bakri Mohammed has been delivering sermons on the internet chat room PalTalk from his home in Lebanon, where he is exiled.
Between 30 and 50 users log on every morning and evening to listen to what is usually a 30 minute speech.

He then opens the discussion board up for questions, which he answers directly.
While monitoring this chat room Sky News heard Bakri tell his followers that no Muslim should join the Pakistan Army, but rather should support the Mujahideen - Muslims fighting a jihad, or Holy war.

He also told them it was "haraam" (or prohibited) to wish work colleagues "Merry Christmas".
In other recent sermons Bakri called on his followers to "disobey British law" and to "fight and die for islam", in order to step up an Islamic state in the UK.

More needs to be done to stop these preachers from flouting hate laws by broadcasting their messages into the UK. Disrupting their activities would be a good start.Ishtiaq Hussain, The Quilliam Foundation, an organisation set up to counter radical Islamic ideology

Syrian-born Bakri was banned from re-entering the UK in 2005, after his presence was deemed by the Government not to be "conducive to the public good".Authorities believe the 50-year-old founder of the now-outlawed radical group al Muhajiroun is a direct threat to national security.
His use of the internet to continue to address his British followers has raised questions over the relevance of UK anti-terror legislation.

Logging on to the chat room, Sky News asked Bakri if addressing his followers in the UK via the internet made a mockery of current terror legislation.
"The terror legislation of the British Government, of any government, is irrelevant, unimportant, insignificant for me", he answered.

"They deport me, or they prevent me from returning back to Britain, or prevent people entering the UK, they think that (is) going to make them stop communicating? If they stop the internet we will communicate by phone. Will they stop every call in the world?"
Bakri also gives regular speeches to gatherings in London via video link or over the phone.
Two weeks ago he spoke to around 60 followers at a meeting in a restaurant in Southall, west London.

The gathering had been due to take place at a council-run building in Southall, but the local authority was tipped off that he was to address the meeting and decided to withdraw permission to use the building.
Police were posted outside, looking for those handing out leaflets, but despite the last-minute change, organisers were quickly able to rearrange the meeting at the alternative venue.
A previous event in a council-run venue in Tower Hamlets, east London, had gone ahead without intervention from the local authority.
However, because Bakri now lives abroad, he is free to say almost anything he likes without fear of prosecution here.

Intelligence analyst Crispin Black warned that this is a dangerous scenario. He said: "It's always been difficult, but it was previously less difficult because he was here, and they could count the number of people at his meetings and find out who they were.
"But now this is growing exponentially, it's much more difficult for the authorities to keep track of."

At the latest meeting Anjem Choudary, a London-based lawyer who is an organiser and spokesman for Bakri, said the Government could not stifle the voice of Muslims.
Mr Choudary said: "He is now accessible every morning on chat rooms and in the evening, as well as addressing people at conferences, seminars and lectures.
"The authorities will try their best to try to silence his voice, however, need is the mother of all creativity."

A Home Office spokesman said the gatherings must still remain within the law - and if speakers crossed the line between free speech and incitement, the organisers risked being prosecuted.

'Strict Muslim' Sentenced for Smuggling Drugs in Her Pants...

A WOMAN who tried to smuggle drugs with a street value of more than £18,000 into a Leeds prison in her knickers has been jailed for four years.

Atia Ashraf, 24, of Trinity Mount, Blackburn, Lancashire, was stopped by police in Armley Prison in April on her way to visit an inmate.

Ashraf, who was described in court as well-educated and a strict Muslim, had already passed through one set of
prison checks when she was subjected to a second search by West Yorkshire Police officers.A jury at Leeds Crown Court heard last month how they found 13.2 grammes of heroin, 6.63 grammes of crack cocaine and 0.5 grammes of cannabis with an estimated street value of £18,200.The drugs were found in a sausage-shaped package hidden in the elastic of her pants.

During her trial, Ashraf claimed she thought the packet was a mobile phone. Her barrister, Amanda Johnson, said she had been led on by one of the inmates, known as Naz.

Sentencing Ashraf in a brief hearing, Judge Alistair McCallum said four years was the least possible sentence he could give her "in order to dissuade other people minded to do what you tried to do".Ashraf had been found guilty by a jury last month of two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and one of possession of class C drugs with intent to supply. The court was told that she had no previous convictions apart from in relation to driving offences.

Smiling Muslim Savagely Beats English Train Conductor...

A 24-year-old man who smiled as he savagely beat up a train conductor has been jailed for three and a half years.

Ansar Hussain flew into a violent rage when Euan Hilton confiscated his out-of-date Metro travel pass, Bradford Crown Court heard.
Hussain, of Barlow Road, Keighley, humiliated and racially abused Mr Hilton on the Skipton to Bradford Forster Square train.

At Saltaire station, he seized the conductor’s master key, shut the train doors and jumped on to the platform with him. The passengers were locked on the train with Mr Hilton at Hussain’s mercy.
Mr Hilton said he curled in a ball as Hussain rained kicks and punches on his head and upper body.
As he crawled towards the back doors of the train, Hussain set on him again, punching and grabbing him.

He rifled through Mr Hilton’s uniform pockets before fleeing the platform.
Mr Hilton suffered grazed knees and elbows and was shocked and very shaken.
Hussain pleaded guilty to causing Mr Hilton actual bodily harm on April 14.
Jailing him Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC called Hussain “a particularly unpleasant, arrogant and malicious young man”.

He branded the attack “gratuitous and vicious”.The judge praised the conductor’s “exemplary” behaviour. He was savagely beaten while performing his duties.
The judge said Hussian smiled as he ruthlessly beat up the conductor “for malice and amusement”.
Mr Hilton told the court that, although shocked and hurt, his duty to his passengers meant the train was only delayed six to eight minutes.

A 19-year-old woman, who gave her evidence behind a screen to protect her identity, said the conductor screamed for help as he was repeatedly kicked on the ground.
After the case Steve Butcher, area director for Northern Rail, said: “We welcome this conviction and sentence, which reflects the severity of the attack.”
Inspector Glen Alderson, of British Transport Police, said: “This was an horrific attack on a member of rail staff just doing his job and serving the public.”

The image shows a woman in a full-length burkha – but instead of having a cut-out for the eyes, the cut-out exposes one of her nipples.

The artwork has already been condemned by the Union of Muslim Organisations of the UK and Ireland (UMO) as "blasphemous, cheap porn".

A spokesman said: "At a time when tensions are already heightened, gallery owners shouldn't be exhibiting artwork like this - it's offensive, inflammatory. and degrading to Muslim women."Photographer Yeon Lee, defended her image, titled Seeing is Believing, claiming it "highlights the ways women are categorised in male-dominated societies".

But the UMO said the image could spark similar angry scenes to those in Denmark in September 2005 when a newspaper printed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed portraying him as a terrorist. He said: "People will protest. It's blasphemous – the artist just wants to make some money – and it's not helpful in this current climate."Gallery owner James Freeman, who is exhibiting the image as part of a wider collection, called Five Years, from emerging international artists in North London", agreed the image had "shock value".

But he denied it was blasphemous. He said: "It's not ridiculing, or ironic, or degrading or perjorative. I don't think you could perceive any blasphemy in this."On the one hand the image conveys the idea of religious conservatism, but on the other hand, it expresses the idea of Western sexuality."A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan police said they had not yet received any complaints.

Popular U.K. children’s dictionary now excludes Christian words and concepts

Words associated with Christianity have been removed from an Oxford University Press children’s dictionary for the United Kingdom.

Editors justified the changes by citing declining church attendance and multiculturalism.
Lisa Saunders, a mother of four from Northern Ireland, compared various editions of the Oxford Junior Dictionary after discovering that the words “moss” and “fern” had been removed from her son’s edition, the Daily Telegraph reports.

She discovered that many words associated with Christianity had been removed, in addition to words associated with the monarchy and the natural world.

Of course, the monarchy is also offensive to sharia-abiding Muslims; as for "natural world"...?

According to the Daily Telegraph, the deleted Christian words include abbey, altar, bishop, chapel, christen, disciple, minister, monastery, monk, nun, nunnery, parish, pew, psalm, pulpit, saint, sin, devil, and vicar...

One of the reasons given is "multiculturalism" -- which, when evoked concerning Londonistan, is often more accurately translated as "dhimmitude," that is, suppressing Christian tradition while permitting, in some cases honoring, Muslim tradition.

U.K. to quiz asylum seekers on local customs and language to weed out fake Afghan refugees

Britain's Home Office says asylum seekers who say they are from Afghanistan will undergo tough interviews to check whether their claims are genuine.

Officials estimate that 250 applicants per year fraudulently claim to be from Afghanistan. Immigration minister Phil Woolas says border controls are being tightened, and asylum seekers who say they're from Afghanistan will be tested on local dialects, customs and traditions.

Woolas said in a statement Tuesday that officials will also check fingerprints of asylum seekers claiming to be from North Korea. Some South Koreans try to enter Britain by posing as citizens of their northern neighbor. Their prints will be checked against a national South Korean database.

A capital idea, since, after all, "war is deceit." But are they following up on "refugees" they have already let in?

Teachers 'beat and abuse' Muslim children in British Koran classes

Muslim children are being beaten and abused regularly by teachers at some British madrassas - Islamic evening classes - an investigation by The Times has found.

Students have been slapped, punched and had their ears twisted, according to an unpublished report by an imam based on interviews with victims in the north of England. One was “picked up by one leg and spun around” while another said a madrassa teacher was “kicking in my head - like a football”, says the report which was compiled by Irfan Chishti, a former government adviser on Islamic affairs.

Almost 1,600 madrassas operate in Britain, teaching Arabic and the Koran on weekday evenings to about 200,000 children aged from four to their mid-teens.
While there is no hard evidence to indicate how many are involved in the physical abuse of children, The Times has uncovered a disturbing pattern in one town - Rochdale - through interviews with mainstream school teachers, Muslim parents and the children themselves.

ANALYSIS: laws must cover madrassas as well

One woman told The Times that her niece Hiba, 7, was slapped across the face so hard by her madrassa teacher that her ear was cut. It later became inflamed and she had to have emergency medical treatment.
When the teacher refused to apologise, Hiba's aunt, Jamila, insisted that her niece should be moved to another madrassa. “I have absolutely no respect for religious teachers who behave like this,” she said.

Another girl described how, at the age of 12, she was hit by her madrassa teacher whenever she mispronounced a word or forgot a verse of the Koran.
When Imam Chishti, a religious education teacher who also runs the Light of Islam Academy in Rochdale, decided to carry out his own investigation into the problem he was shocked by how even the victims had grown to accept the abuse. “They all joked about it,” he said. “There's a culture that accepts it.”

Imam Chishti said that part of the problem was that some madrassa teachers were ignorant of British law. Corporal punishment was banned in state schools in 1986 and in all schools in 1998. Under current law teachers acting in loco parentis may use only “reasonable punishment” such as a smack, providing it does not cause any marks or bruising.
But the abuse discovered by The Times investigation goes far beyond what could be termed “reasonable force”. One particularly brutal form of punishment practised in some madrassas is known as the Hen, in which the victim is forced to hold his ears while squatting with his arms fed through his legs.

The magnitude of the problem in Rochdale has led primary school head teachers to break the silence surrounding the problem. Several disclosed that they had asked social services to investigate complaints of physical abuse in madrassas made by pupils but that the victims' parents refused to press charges against the perpetrators either because they felt that physical abuse was normal practice or they feared being ostracised by their community.
Tina Wheatley, deputy head of Heybrook Primary School, said: “If a child comes in with an injury of any sort and it's non-accidental, then schools will refer it to parents, then also to child protection.”

But she said that social workers were often faced by parents who refused to take action against the abusers. “When child protection turns up at the parents' [home], parents don't want to take it any further. There are a lot of head teachers in this area who have spoken to the authorities. It's so sensitive,” she said.

Sandra Hartley, head teacher at Brimrod County Primary School in Rochdale, where 93 per cent of pupils are Muslim, said that she feared that some Muslim parents regarded physical beatings as normal because they had been subjected to the same treatment when they were children.
“You know, it's very much accepted that children are experiencing that type of coercion, unfair treatment and sometimes physical abuse,” she said. “Parents knowing that this is happening and not wanting to move their child from that type of extra-curricular activity is very much the pattern that we have here.”

Rochdale police and social services have met local Muslim leaders six times this year to discuss child protection issues after investigations prompted by claims of physical abuse at madrassas.
Terry Piggott, the executive director of Rochdale Borough Council, admitted that it was difficult for the authorities to take action.
“Because of the rapid turnover of volunteer teachers at madrassas - and the fact that many are part-time - it makes it difficult to regulate and monitor the people who are working with local young people,” he said in a statement.

The problem is not confined to Rochdale. Ann Cryer, Labour MP for the Yorkshire constituency of Keighley which has a large Muslim population, said that mainstream teachers had complained to her about the punishment their students faced at madrassas. She added her voice to those from Muslim community calling for madrassas to be brought within the regulatory framework.“I think we should have some sort of review at a very high level as to how madrassas are being [run] ... they seem to be a law unto themselves,” she said.
Madrassas and similar religious classes are not subject to any regulation nor are their teachers required to be vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau. Many madrassas are not even known to the authorities because they are run on an ad hoc basis by people in their own living rooms. Even those attached to a mosque which is registered with the Charities Commission are not monitored.

Ms Cryer called for the authorities to be given powers to perform “spot checks” on madrassas and shut down any in which children are being abused.“As the Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities grow so do the number of madrassas and therefore the risk to children increases every year,” she said.
The Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board (Minab) - a government approved organisation established in 2006 - has set up a minimum standard for mosques which includes guidelines to safeguard child welfare. However, membership is purely voluntary and Minab has yet to recruit a single mosque.

A spokesman for the board, Yousif Al-Khoei, admitted that some mosques were run by teachers who may be abusing children.
“There is of course a minority of madrassas which have a village mindset who may be practising it but you have to look at it from both angles,” he said. “No community is perfect.”
The Minister for Community Cohesion, Sadiq Khan, urged his fellow Muslims to turn in those responsible for violence against children.
“We need to have religious leaders saying in clear and religious messages that it's unacceptable and that there's no place in Islam for child abuse. It's pure village culture mentality,” he said. “Everybody should expose this. The neighbours who know about it should expose it, the teachers [at mainstream schools] should expose it. We need a culture which says that whistleblowing on these things is a badge of pride not a badge of shame.”
He added: “We are hiding behind the defence of cultural sensitivities and our children are not being protected.”

The Department for Children, Schools and Families said: “We're crystal clear that all organisations, including faith-based, must abide by children protection and safeguarding laws.
“Any actions that go beyond reasonable punishment are absolutely unacceptable and must be dealt with the courts. We urge anyone who is aware of such incidents to report them to the police and relevant authorities.”

UK Asians 'silent' on child abuse

Thousands of Muslim schoolchildren are being physically and sexually abused by their religious teachers every year, according to a report into the Islamic education system in this country.

Muslim lawyer Anjem Choudary brands Christmas 'evil'

The lawyer, who recently praised the Mumbai terror attacks, urged all Muslims to reject traditional Christmas celebrations, claiming that they are forbidden by Allah.

he shocked Christians and even those of his own faith by branding yuletide festivities as "the pathway to hellfire".
Choudary, who is chairman of the Society of Muslim Lawyers, ruled out all celebrations, including having a Christmas tree, decorating the house or eating turkey.
In the sermon posted on an Islamic website, he said: "In the world today many Muslims, especially those residing in western countries, are exposed to the evil celebration Christmas.

"Many take part in the festival celebrations by having Christmas turkey dinners.
"Decorating the house, purchasing Christmas trees or having Christmas turkey meals are completely prohibited by Allah.
"Many still practise this corrupt celebration as a remembrance of the birth of Jesus.
"How can a Muslim possibly approve or participate in such a practice that bases itself on the notion Allah has an offspring?
"The very concept of Christmas contradicts and conflicts with the foundation of Islam.
"Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire. Protect your Paradise from being taken away – protect yourself and your family from Christmas."

Choudary is Principal Lecturer at the London School of Shari'ah and a follower of the Islamist militant leader Omar Bakri Mohammed.
Earlier this year, he led a meeting at the heart of the area where the liquid bombers lived, which warned of a British September 11.

100 police take on rioting prisoners as jail protest breaks out during Muslim festival

At least 100 police and prison staff, many dressed in riot gear, were deployed to the Aylesbury Young Offenders' Institute after a large group of Asian prisoners ran riot inside the centre.

Sources said that they broke into the officers' mess and workshops and armed themselves with hammers, saws and chisels.
The incident, described by the Prison Service as 'concerted indiscipline', was believed to have broken out during protests as Asian inmates celebrated the festival of Eid, which marks the end of the Ramadan fast.

Early reports that the rioters may have taken five people hostage - including a prison service Imam, were denied by a spokesman for the Prison Service.
Police said that support officers from across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire were being sent to the young offenders' institute in Bierton Road, Aylesbury, to assist prison staff in quelling the dispute.

Trouble broke out at the centre, which houses about 400 young prisoners, just before noon. The insitute is home to some of the most violent young inmates in Britain and about 10 per cent were understood to be lifers.

A prison source said that about 80 inmates, aged bertween 17 and 22 years, were taking part in the riot which culminated in them battering their way into the workshops where a range of tools were stored.
'They have apparently managed to grab hammers, saws and other implements and then gone to the Officers' Mess where they have taken sets of knives.
'They are now in a stand-off with prison officers who are working out a co-ordinated plan of intervention to try to restore order,' said the source.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said that police from across the Thames Valley were being taken to the scene to the help the prison service.
Some were also using vans to take special metal-detector arches for use when the prisoners were overpowered.
A source said: 'They will need to get each and everyone of them to go under the arch to make sure they haven't hidden any weapons on their bodies for use later.'
Tonight the prison governor David Kennedy was co-ordinating the efforts to restore order and was not available for comment.

Thames Valley Police were first called at 11.46am to the incident , a spokesman said.
There were no reports of any injuries to offenders or staff, she added.

British missionary couple in Muslim African country face months in jail "hell hole" after being charged with "sedition"

David and Fiona Fulton were arrested in the West African Muslim country, and have been separated and held in custody, according to sources.

The couple have been jailed over claims they had been speaking out against the government of president Yahya Jammeh, who has ruled Africa's smallest country with an iron fist for 14 years.
Mr Fulton, 60, who is originally from Troon, Ayrshire, was being held in the country's notorious Mile II prison - a high security jail outside the capital Banjul, described as a tough former colonial jail built during the days of the British Empire.
His wife Fiona, 46, was is understood to be in police custody with the couple's adopted two-year-old daughter Elizabeth.

She has been treated well by police officers who have run errands to buy nappies - but there were growing fears for her husband's safety.
A friend, who did not want to be named said: 'Fiona has been treated well. We are not sure about David. We don't think he's fared quite as well. He's not eating.'
The couple are being held until they are able to raise bail of £125,000 and meet other conditions.
Mr Fulton is chaplain to the Gambian army and carries the rank of major, while his wife looks after terminally ill people and visits women in their homes and in hospital.[...]
As well as ministering for the army, Mr Fulton also has a ministry on the river, which involves reaching immigration outposts and villages only accessible by boat.
The Westhoughton Pentecostal Church website states: 'This is a major challenge, as it involves a 10-day trip up river every month.

'But by God's grace he sees many won for the Lord from Islam and animism.'Hence the charge of "sedition"
The Gambia, one of Africa's smallest countries, is predominantly Muslim but has a significant Christian community, and indigenous beliefs are also practised.
A report in the International Herald Tribune said the Fultons were paraded on state television on Wednesday and charged in court in the capital, Banjul, yesterday.
The prosecution reportedly accused the couple of writing letters to individuals and organisations to 'bring into hatred or contempt, to excite disaffection against the President of the Republic and the government of The Gambia'.
The newspaper said the couple pleaded not guilty and the case was adjourned until December 16.

President Jammeh, who believes he has herbal treatments that can cure AIDS, has tolerated little dissent since he seized power in a 1994 military coup.
Since taking over as a young army lieutenant he has won three widely criticised multi-party elections.
A concerned friend of the couple added: 'While we are free to speak out, in Gambia you cannot.
'As a chaplain part of David's job is to provide comfort to all sorts of people, people high up and people low down - and people who have perhaps fallen out of favour.
'I don't know of anything they have done that could be called sedition. Their whole focus has been teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.'
Pastor Martin Speed, of Westhoughton Pentecostal Church in Bolton, Greater Manchester, said the couple had visited Christians at his church to talk about their work.
'The work he is doing is not political,' Pastor Speed said.

'He's sharing his Christian faith with people. There does seem to be a growing difficulty of Christians in the country of Gambia. We are really concerned about the situation.'
